Guest ch08 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Hi all, Well, I just have a question is it possible to disable the Samsung's menu on the WM6.5 version of the Omnia Pro? I have searched around and found that one should delete the linkmgr.exe from the windows\startup folder. But I don't have any such file in there. I have to remove it since I am visually impaired and I rely on the standard wm menu's. Please, any help would really be apreciated! I have a hard time setting this thing up due to their menu's not being accessible.
Guest Gydeon Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 If you mean the menu which you open with the center button on the front? You can assign that button to another menu, maybe the standard Start-menu. The fact is indeed, that you can no longer access the standard Windows Mobile menu, since Samsung replaces it with their own standard menu. What you can do, is install SPB Mobile Shell. This program gives you a shortcut to the original Windows Mobile Settings menu ( where you can also assign the actions for the button on front ). I have the buttons assigned to rotate screen and toggle the top-start-bar on and off ( provides full-screen for SPB Mobile Shell ). In your case, you could assign the button to the default Windows Mobile menu. Don't know if that's the thing you were heading for, but this might be a solution to your problem

Hi there if you want the standerd windows menu in 6.5 all you need to do is to disable the touch wiz and for that you need standerd windows settings that is not accessible since samsung had hidden it so all you need to do is do change some registry value and then you will get the standert windows settings and then that should be just fine To Show Windows Setting in Start Menu * Open any registry editor, go to path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\ amd change Value 'HideSettings' to '0' (credits to rodrigofd) * may be you can use total commander for this purpose. If you want to Disable sasmung skinned app for SMS then do the following changes in registry. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Sofware\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext] "DLL"="htmlnote.dll" hope this helps. regards sandeep
