Guest Stitch15 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Since a couple of days I get this error message when installing apps: "installation error". In the statusbar it only says: installation failed. After that the other message appears. Anybody a clue what's causing the problem?

Guest starkos Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Glad u got it working, keep in mind the Repair ext:SD in the Recovery Menu though as unfortunately with custom roms/a2sd u will most likely need to do it everytime u reboot the phone :D

The strange thing is: I've had the rom a couple of weeks without problems. All of a sudden i keep getting this message. Anything I can do about it? Re-installing the rom maybe?

Yea it's quite annoying, but doesn't bother me too much as it only happens to me when I reboot the phone.. Are you saying it just happens randomly even if the phone hasn't been rebooted because if so I'm not sure why that would happen? Next time in recovery you could try executing the following: Repair ext:SD; Fix apk uid mismatches (or whatever it's called); & convert ext.2 to ext.3 (if you haven't done that already), and see how that goes for a bit.. If you keep on getting it for no reason then I haven't got a clue mate lol

Since then the message occurs everytime I install something. Luckily I don't have a habit of rebooting my phone every day.... Edited February 22, 2010 by Stitch15
Guest flash2004 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Follow this routine when you need to reboot your phone. Works for me every time - Shutdown your phone as you normally do - Press Menu+ Red button + Power button - Once it boots in recovery menu go to partition and select repair EXt - once it completes go back and select reboot now. This should help you avoid installation errors every time and you don't have to reboot twice each time :(

Thanks, I was just looking around for an answer to this one before i posted in the forum, done that and it's working well so far... the only thing thats not working for me while installing through this is the google voice search for keyboard app...
