Guest theeuwke Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) Since I upgraded to 1.7 T-Mobile ROM, I wasn't able to sync anymore. Well, PC Suite rubbish anyway, so I was looking for an alternative. (By the way; I don't have an unlimited internet access on the Pulse, and I have no Wifi@Work). The options I found: - CompagnionLink USB: complex; you need to connect/disconnect the storage functionality all the time. - The Missing Link: Missing The Callendar (doh). - MyLink: Only syncs Inbox for free... Last but not least; I tried 'generic' mobile software, since the Pulse provides an OBEX interface by a virtual com port. named PCUI (which is used by PC SUITE). But it doesn't seem to be 'compatible', the only thing i succeded is syncing the SIM contacts. Just by coincidence, i found this tool: http://global.mobileaction.com/download/android.jsp It install some kind of listener service on the phone, an communicates via ADB. DON'T install the drivers, thats NOT neccesary, but you need a working ADB link to let the program install the sync app on you phone Edited February 22, 2010 by theeuwke
Guest David Horvath Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 There is no Linux version? Shame.. I'll complain to the creators :D
Guest theeuwke Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 mmm, a Linux version? Nope, then you'll have to use the 'cloud' way, or alternative, install a funambol server on you linux pc and conect with the funambol android connector or simular 'syncml' client/server, but then you still need ethernet/wifi/internet, or use syncml-obex-client or synce-opensync-plugin but I doubt that it will work.
Guest Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Hi there! I uninstalled the PC Suite (it's useless, and I want to see if this is better), but now whenever I plug my Pulse in, and hit 'Mount' on the device, the device manager shows that the 'device cannot start'. I've grabbed the Android device drivers from the same page you linked to, but it says that the best drivers are already installed.

(or from the Android SDK, but then you have to modify the inf file).

('Computer Management > Disk Management > Assign Drive Letter' solved it :() edit: Now I've got to another problem... The Android Manager software is installed, but I can't install the Sync Agent. I've checked my settings on the device, and sure enough, I have USB Debugging enabled, but the Sync Agent fails to install every time. Edited February 22, 2010 by Guest

Try to reset the pc and reset the phone. Verifty the adb bridge state with "adb devices" or "adb get-state". Which rom do you use? DroidExplorer had problems with the original ROM, and the old 'sdk usb r2' drivers. Try to upgrade the phone, and download the newest android sdk & drivers. You'll have to modify the inf file to the correct pid/vid from you phone. then kill the adb server and restart, "adb device" schould recognize the phone as huawei.
