Guest thekevster Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 i consider myself an advanced user of the omnia in general, but i'm a noob when it comes too cooking, i just cooked my first working ROM today. i, like many others, have the annoying endless loop in align screen. is there a way to cook in skipping the align screen? i'm going to be using my own cooked roms now and it will get annoying to have to copy over a blank "welcome.not" file over every time i flash.

Go to oem drivers an open the .rgu file. Find the line [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Welcome] and change the "Disable"= to "Disable"=dword:FF 7F disable everything except "email setup" screen [WM5 only AKU 3.x] BF disable everything except "password screen" [WM5 only] DF disable everything except "complete screen" and the finishing tap EF disable everything except "location & date time" screen F7 disable everything except "pop-up menus" screen FB disable everything except "stylus" screen FD disable everything except "align" screen FE disable everything except tap on the first screen FF disable everything [displays first 'splash' screen and exits] you can replace FF with the one you want. Guest thekevster Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 i followed your instructions and it didnt work for me. i changed "Disable"= to "Disable"=dword:FF and i still get the alignment screen. i know it isnt the rgu file that is the problem because i edited the same file to use ftouchsl drivers to enable kinetic scrolling and that is working fine. i'm using SYS and MSXIPkernel 28223 building with visual oskitchen if that might have anything to do with it. i even tried entering in the calibration data and checking "skip welcome screen" in the tweaks tab of the kitchen to no avail.

Edit your initflashfiles.dat (OEM_lang) with notepad. \Add a ; in front of the \startup welcome.lnk. Like this: ;Directory("\Windows\StartUp"):-File("\x0057\x0065\x006C\x0063\x006F\x006D\x0065\x002E\x006C\x006E\x006B","\Windows\welcome.lnk") ***Be sure to save in Unicode***.
