Guest cyrilthefish Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 My ISP had a major ADSL failiure today resulting in the service being completely offiline for a few hours... As some sort of 'emergency backup' incase this happens again, how easy would it be to connect my SPV as a GPRS modem? (i don't have a standard modem anymore, i sold it) the only way i've seen so far involves an IRDA link, which my pc does not have, is there a way to do this via the USB cable or would i have to buy an IRDA adapter for my PC?
Guest Ethanol Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I think this is covered in this post http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=2361

Guest Beardyboy Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 BT managed to screw up most of the ADSL in southern England yesteray by knackering a large piece of equipment at the main Ilford exchange. Some ISP's have been having problems this morning as well, since the replacement equipment at Ilford wasn't quite the same as the knackered one...
