Dear guys,

I saw a lot of downloadable ROMs for my tmo g2 and I'd like to ask, if I put a rom on my device's sd card will it replace the original system or will I just be able to boot another system on the sd card?

Another question is, what happens if I press the volume the volume up/down or home or back +power button when i turn it on? I found these features but I don't know what are they good for exactly :( I would be happy if you told me some information about them.

Reguards,

PS: I'm a newbie xP

First do you have a rooted hero?

if its rooted you can put custom ROM on it. it isn't run off your sd card like haret on winmo. it will replace your system.

if you have rooted hero you would have the RA-hero recovery img > from amon_RA. this enables to make backups of your system, so you can always revert back, with your old settings and ROM. or flash it with custom roms. for RA-hero img you can read here more about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124

you can access the recovery img with home+power on/off button. and can make backups and flash custom roms.

First of all you cant install a ROM on your sdcard, you can only install a ROM on your phone memory, Secondly If you press the Power and Back button together then you access the Bootloader and if you press Power and Home button then you access the Recovery image. These features help you to flash custom ROM's on your phone and many other cool features.
