HELP! update 2.1.1 for rooted/unlocked N1

I have done google searches and gone through multiple forums. Most of them leading back to modaco. I did a search here and have yet to find a solution on how to update a rooted/unlocked N1 to 2.1 update 1.

Please can anyone help me with this as I have spent more than three hours reading and trying different methods from different people with no results.

Thanks for the reply, now I am having another issue.

I am having trouble with my computer not seeing the phone.

I am currently on windows XP.

I rooted/unlocked my phone about a month ago and since then I have formatted my computer twice.

I have forgotten how to get the computer to see the phone. I still have all the fastboot files that are needed in-order to get my phone reflashed with the update.

When I type in the commands to flash the img, it just stays at "waiting for device" and doesn't do anything.

If you have any tips on getting my computer to see the phone, please let me know.

EDIT:

NEVERMIND!!! I found out why. When the phone goes into the bootloader, the computer's driver for the nexus one basically becomes unrecognized and I had to reinstall the driver. This fixed it.
