Guest qvert Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 hi people, do you also realize that sometimes the wifi standby policy is not working? i set it to never disable the wifi connection but after aroundd 10mins it gets disconnected until i wake up my phone from sleep, i am having a speedport w700v, but with my hero all works perfect so the problem is something with the nexus wifi card and the router wifi, but don't know what. i tested it with several roms, all the same error i tested mcr 1.6 desire a9 from modaco cm 5.0.3.1 and i tested all the radios out there Someone experiences the same problem? there is a thread at the XDA_devs but somehow the people only say yes we have it but no one has knowledge about it, and i hope here are some people who are more smart :(
Guest MrJizzler Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Exact same thing for me. Very annoying!

Guest qvert Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 why would you want your phone to stay connected when its asleep? to get twitter updates emails instant messages etc pp ?
Guest xkonni Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 to get twitter updates emails instant messages etc pp ? but keeping wifi alive over a long time drains a lot more battery than connecting 3g every once in a while to check for updates.
Guest qvert Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 but keeping wifi alive over a long time drains a lot more battery than connecting 3g every once in a while to check for updates. yes but in the night it still plugged into the charger and if there is a option to disable the disconnect wifi then it should work and it's not working it should work but doesnt, that is the problem it's not a question if this should be done or something just that a feature is not working correct, and if you don't like it you don't need to use it but a lot of people i talked to have the same issues

Guest qvert Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) yeah you're right, it should just work. but i was wondering anyway :( someone told that he used "task manager" with an auto task kill function which keeps the wifi, don't know why maybe it refreshes something so that the wifi keeps active? but there are a lot of "task manager" called apps in the market , don't know which edit: i found another strange thing, today i was at my girlfriends house they have the same router but there i don't have the wifi problem maybe it's a dhcp problem?
