Nexus desire rom - battery charging issue

Having some odd problems with battery charging using the desire rom's (currently alpha 10, but had issues on the other roms):

1 - charging battery via mains or usb, and charging light appears but battery icon does not indicate charging is taking place, and battery carries on draining

2 - battery gets stuck on 100% for a long time (e.g. 15 minutes) even when phone is being used intensively

etc.

Tries to drain down to 0% and re-charge, which seemed to help for a while. First time the battery got to about 15% and then went striaght to 0% and next time when to 0%, so appears to be some sort of calibration issue ? I did clear the battery stats via the option in the custom recovery image, not sure if that has created some of these issues ?

Please help!
