Guest uat Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) I hope you all don't mind I ask this very basic question.... When I install an app, I am offered to choose either My device or My storage, can someone explain what the differences are? I don't have MicroSD installed on my Omnia i910. 1. Aren't these all internal memories/storages? 2. As far as read/write thoughput is concerned, is one faster than the other? Or actually they are on the same RAM? 3. Any advantages for putting file or app on the device? thanks Brian Edited February 25, 2010 by uat
Guest DeezHoz Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) My Device is the very limited solid state hard drive that came with the phone used to store the phone original applications. My Storage is the 16gb hard drive that came with all devices for upgrades and other programs to be installed. When you put in an SD card you will get another option for additional storage. As far as advantages I stay away from using the My Device drive as much as possible due to its size. Edited February 26, 2010 by DeezHoz
Guest joža Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 device is ROM, i beliveve Flash EEPROM, something similar as BIOS chip you have on your computer. it is quite expensive to make in large size, so samsung built in MyStorage, it's the same as any SD card, but not removable. Tis makes production cheaper. so on device you put system files, and things that have to be installed there. and on my storage everything else.
