Noobish Question

So I kinda want to kick myself now. I hacked my nexus and put the desire rom on and it was running mint until I decided to try my motorola H710 bluetooth. I read page 45 of the official topic and followed steves advice to fix the bluetooth and it worked for like 10 seconds and kicked my bluetooth right out. Now it wont connect at all, even with following steves steps. I feel like an idiot because I just ordered before i did the hack a soundfly bluetooth transmitter for my car to stream music wirelessly and to use as hands free, and with no bluetooth capability thats going to be a waste of money. So...

Can someone either walk me through a surefire way to fix the bluetooth problem permanently or...

Give me a full step by step walkthrough on how to go back to the original nexus one rom?

Id rather not give up Desire and all the things it offers but the way i look at it is when its finally released im sure it will be on here and ill be able to pick it back up again. Please remember i am a total noob at this. Aside from jailbreaking an iphone a couple years back this is the first ive hacked anything. I did do a backup using the sweet backup system found in the stickied topics of this forum (RA Nexus one recovery image). But i dont know how to restore it properly and reading the horror stories here about people doing restores and seeing blank screens and such isnt making me want to just go for it. So if anyone can help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Either flash the original ROM back on. You can it in the sticky threads here or didn't you create a Nandroid backup before flashing?

you have nandroid backup, as long as you used the backup/restore feature.

now back to the recovery, and wipe the data/system.

then use restore.

let me know if you stuck at the boot. i have been back and forward by flashing..

go back to the same Backup/Restore menu at Recovery.. :(

Just remember that when the beta roms come out, it's likely that most of these bluetooth problems will disappear.

If you did a Nandroid Backup then you really have nothing to worry about.

Most of the horror stories here should be taken in context - What was the person trying to do? Did they follow proper instructions? Are they unlucky?

The good news is that once you can get back into the recovery mode AND you have a Nandroid Backup, you're pretty much bulletproof as you always have the option to return to 'the way it were'.

Unless you're REALLY unlucky or screw things up big time.

Here's what you do.

Boot up into recovery mode.

Do a factory wipe.

Select the Nandroid backup/recovery option

Select Nandroid recovery.

Recover your backed-up ROM.

Reboot.

Be Happy :(

Regarding the Desire ROM; Please bear in mind that this is an Alpha (not even a Beta).

Paul is wicked smart and a man you can count on.

Soon we'll have a Beta ROM and after that a stable version of Desire. All you need to do is just be a bit patient and in no time, you can reinstall a better version (with Sense UI) on your Nexus One phone.

Thank you for covering the process on how to restore from nandroid backup! I've been waiting for something like this for awhile.

Quick question, if the ROM we flashed also had the ERE36B radio update, will restoring a nandroid backup also restore the radio portion as well?

My last backup was with the ERE27 radio and I was curious.

Thanks.
