How top use apps installed in My Storage after flashing

Hi Guys

I just successfully flashed my Omnia for the first time today. It worked great but how do I use all the apps in the My storage drive? Do I have to install them again.

Also I backed up the contacts & other stuffs from C drive via Sprite backup but when i tried to restore it, it screwed up the UI. Some of the apps didn't work. I guess it backed up over the installed new apps that came with the rom.

Now I only want the contacts back. How do i get them from sprite?

Many of the apps in My Storage (or Storage Card) can be run by just using something like Total Commander (free File Explorer type app) to make a shortcut and then move the shortcut to Program Files.

What I do is first put all these shortcuts into a folder (most any name will do) in My Storage (just a one time job.) Then anytime I flash I just move the whole folder of shortcuts to Program Files.

This will just leave a few apps that must be reinstalled after each flash.

As to the restore, you shoulld be able to do a partial restore of just PIM. I use SPB Backup, so maybe aomeone using Sprite can give you more details.

To make a shortcut of what? Is there a exe like it is in normal windows?

Also do I make these shortcuts from the D drive & paste them to the C drive program files?

I'll try to see if spite has a PIM restore options.

Shortcut is of *.exe file in each of the program app folders. The shortcut has the location of this folder and program name so when you run the shortcut from somewhere else on your device it then references and runs the real exe file.

C and D drives do not apply here. All is done on your device. But is similar to procedures on your desktop.

You make the shortcut from the exe file in the program folder (for each app). Then you have it to move to the Shortcut folder I mentioned (or move to somewhere else if you chose) after each time you flash.
