HELP !! PHONE cannot be written - Port Create failed!

this is a 16GB Omnia, originally locked to Orange UK.

After i flashed Ryrzy's most recent 28230_Lite, i found no Mobile Office. So went back to replace it with 28230_Normal.

Since then, the screen got stuck in the first screen, showing white:

SAMSUNG

OMNIA

in the middle to the black background, and never came out, and cannot be switched off.

So after several hours, i took the battery out, and tried to re-flash. this time (and thereafter) it says "Checksum failed", and i could never flash again no matter how many tries.

Does anyone encounter a similar problem before?

Can anyone help, please?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

what did you mean? are there any flashing files that are not .exe?

On my Vista PC i used software "USDL GrandPrix v1.6.4 VISTA.exe" if one have the source files like eboot, bin file (the rom) and customer. Normally all are found in same compressed file. I'm new at this don't know what eboot and customer are. But when i installed them on after on !! one after one with rebooting the phone between the steps then it worked fine. Checking them all in and flashing did not work for me, rom flash crashed every time then.

I think USDL Grandprix for XP also exist.

just use USDL GrandPrix v1.6.4 program jus tto revive phone need to restar it. button is at the top of mobile near power you can push it with pencil or something.

i cracked my phone too it helped

thanks. tried "USDL Grandprix v1.5.2 for XP.exe" before, no use. shall downbload your version and see...

now tried all sorts, still won't flash, except the stock rom: "i908ZHHH2_HongKong_ENG.exe" for this UK orange phone

even with the above rom, the phone part can't be flashed, hence can't turn on GSM/3G or change the phone region for correct software version

weired.........

when i flashed "i908ZHHH2_HongKong_ENG.exe" (only can this ROM be flashed after 'bricking'), the "SGH-I900 V1.5.2 UserDownloader says:

so the PDA works fine, but not phone (radio). this part can't be flashed for some reason, hence can't turn on GSM/3G or change the phone region for correct software version

well my anti-virus s/w says executor.exe belongs to a virus class and has stopped it automatically.

Try again, but disable your firewall and virusscanner.

yap, was done before. not because of this, it's the rom on device; the phone part must have been filled with rubbish. given up

Dude, if you're trying to flash on Windows 7 it won't happen. I've got the same issue here when i try to flash the phone part.
