Guest AndyCr15 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I find this interesting - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/ref=pe_3...R8OY|B0035ER8OO Now I thought the Desire was going to be cheaper than the Nexus One? I thought that was one thing future Desire owners where saying 'Don't you feel stupid now the Desire is going to be released and will be cheaper' etc. Well, I paid £415 for my N1, the Desire is £430... in fact, with a similar delivery speed it is £437! (Mind you, I now see Amazon have the N1 for £630, ha ha. Still, that's not saying the Desire is cheaper than the N1... that just says Amazon is charging more for it) I think the Legend only being £40 more than the Hero on Amazon is a good price point. There is a reasonable chance you might find one on Gumtree for around £350 then. To be clear, I'm staying with me N1, but I'm going to be trying to pursued some friends to make the jump to Android off the back of these :(
Guest metatron Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I love sense, I loved my Hero and I think the Desire looks like a great phone. I however have a Nexus and cannot for the life of me (unless they are due an upgrade, get one free or very nicely discounted) figure out why anyone that has paid for a Nexus One would then pay for a desire, so soon with so little difference, especially when we can run the Desire ROM on it.
Guest kwazyivan Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) Bloody hell, £429 POUNDS????? Talk about the UK Market being a blood sucking VAMPIRE, when the phone is going to be released in the US for $429 Dollars instead, thats £287.27 at the current market rate. The same goes for the Nexus One here in the UK, as they are selling it for £599.99 Pounds at Play.com and £630 Pounds on Amazon.co.uk, when the phone only costs $529 Dollars in the US, equivalent to £354.23 at the current market rate. Either way, i'm glad that the HTC Desire is at least cheaper than the Nexus One. Edited March 1, 2010 by kwazyivan
Guest AndyCr15 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Well for me, that's the point. It's not. To buy a N1 for me, in no dodgy way, the way it's supposed to be done, cost me £415 all in, the Desire for similar order would be £437... If you want to go buying it from some 3rd party that has trumped up the price, fine, but don't go claiming that's the price to people in the UK, as Google are selling to people in the UK. It probably gets here quicker than if you order off Amazon in the UK too...
