Guest kohaku Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I have just got my new phone a couple days ago, I want to play save and would like to backup the original rom before playing with roms downloaded from the internet. I tried to use the amonrarecovery to backup the rom and it is giving out some errors when I try to do a Nandroid backup Free Image Hosting by ImageBam.com I have tried other SD card related options in the recovery mode but it didn't help. :(

If that doesn't work try to make a bart backup (thatd pretty much the same but it backups a2sd apps also) Grestings, BigBear
Guest kohaku Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) it seems that I have to flash the recovery image to the phone, then all the error message are gone I was using fastboot to run the recovery image, maybe that is why. ---- just tried update-pulse-u8230edition-1.7-core-signed.zip ROM, the touch screen didn't work :( going back to stock rom... ---- second try update-pulse-1.7-core-signed.zip still no touch screen :( Edited March 2, 2010 by kohaku

Have a look at this thread: CHT 8000 kenoboe helped me understand that the other ROMs here might work if after you flashed them, you then flashed the boot.img with the original you got from the backup of your phone. I am curious about that original backup problem. Seems strange that you had to flash the recovery image over before you could make the backup.
Guest CHN-michael Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 there are the same troubles as U8220 in China Unicom.. But The Huawei has update rom for some customer in the Motherland of China,it offer a software named by Huawei Space which servered more than 100+ softewares.Except that ,there is not much more differences as the 2010.02.15 rom.

I am using modaco custom rom fine now :( I have tried both 1.5.2-pulse-amonrarecovery and 1.0-pulse-amonrarecovery and they both have error messages about "can't mount cache:reciver/log" when it boot into the recovery image. After I flashed the same recovery image into the phone, these error message are gone --- general usage seems to be fine after I applied the original boot.img but when I start to customize the home screen, any widget that has an option page before adding it will not work. For example:if I add the OneClick WIFI mode widget, after I select/change the color/size of it, press OK. The widget will not be added. :( But if the Widget do not have any option, e.g. Retro Clock, it'll be added but as far as I used the modaco rom, it really rocks Edited March 2, 2010 by kohaku
