(Phone is working normaly with old 1.5 firmware) you cant update it to 1.6, the other way is that you can use other ROM's which are based on 2.0 and 2.1 like AOSP and Cynogen ROM's

Guest Dr. dre Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Download it from here :- KaguDroid 2.1 Based ROM :- http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...re36b-26-02-10/ AOSP Eclair 2.1 ROM :- http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...online-kitchen/
Guest venturerider Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 None of the 2.1 ROMs have functioning BlueTooth audio for phone calls. Just so you know.

Guest Dr. dre Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 After flash the new android is it possible to downgrade to the old firmware? (if the new one will not be stable) also, what "WIPE" does? Yes you can restore to the previous ROM, just be sure to make a nandroid backup just before flashing the new ROM and yes 'wipe' means that it will wipe all your data just do a wipe before flashing the new ROM and yes do a nandroid restore before the wipe. (just thought I'll tell you coz some people make mistakes)

Wipe will wipe only phone memory or sdcard too?

When i am doing Nandroid backup (booting by home+power button > backup-restore>Create Nandroid + ext backup) It perfoms backup. but at the end here comes the error: "Error : Run 'nandroid-mobile.sh' vida adb!" what does it mean? I have to put this script on sdcard and run it from shell? btw, when i am booting my hero normally i have nandroid folder with several *.img files (here is attached image) Can i trust this img backups and restore? I am afraid to do test restore because if my Hero fails to boot there is no any HTC Service-Center in my Country to change or restore my phone. That means i will be totally fu***kd. :( Edited March 3, 2010 by giorgit
Guest descenpet Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 i think that error is just ext backup error. i had that error in the past too. try doing just nandroid backup without ext and see if you get any error.

Guest giorgit Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 The error you are getting is for the to do a nandroid restore/Backup by ADB. Try selecting only Nandroid Backup(not the +ext one) Hm, it worked. Strange. First i used that command several times and i had an error immediately, without even unfinished backup. (After I thought that Nandroid ext backup means backup to external, sdcard drive. :( ) Thank you again.

Guest giorgit Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 ext means the backup of your ext partition on sdcard. OK :( So after nandroid backup i can play wish android 2.1 ROM-s. I'll try it ASAP. :(
