Guest robot1000 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks :( so i mustn´t care if the rom is for u8220? No, it won't make a difference I've been using the Custom ROMs on this site for a while (which are for U8230) and it works absolutely fine
Guest jmmL Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 No, it won't make a difference I've been using the Custom ROMs on this site for a while (which are for U8230) and it works absolutely fine Woah woah woah! I thought that some users with U8230s had problems when applying U8220 ROMs (but not the other way round) - non-working touchscreens, for example. If I remember correctly, Glycerin has cooked up a rooted U8230 image elsewhere in the forums.
Guest andreass4 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Oo... So i must care about the different versions...
Guest jmmL Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Oo... So i must care about the different versions... Mine was more of a holding reply to catch you before you flashed your phone and ran into trouble. I'd recommend reading this thread (which I haven't really been following) and decide for yourself what to do: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...u8230-troubles/
Guest McSpoon Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Yep, as jmmL points out, you could run into trouble. It depends on which carrier you got your phone from. The MCR ROMs on this forum are based on the T-Mobile Pulse firmware so they really should only be used on the Pulse. I think the following devices have all reported the touchscreen doesn't respond when using the Pulse MCR ROMs. U8220 Claro in Chile U8220 CTBC in Brazil U8220 Red Bull Mobile in Austria U8220 Sweden H3G U8220 China Unicon CHT 8000 in TaiwanBasically if your device isn't a T-Mobile Pulse then you shouldn't install the Pulse ROMs unless you have a backup of your original firmware. And if you decide to make a nandroid backup then also be careful - do NOT install 'superboot'. Most of the instructions on this forums suggest installing the Pulse Superboot first, which is fine for T-Mobile Pulse owners, but if you don't own a T-Mobile Pulse then you shouldn't install that.
Guest robot1000 Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Oo... So i must care about the different versions... It might be worth just sending a PM to PAUL, to see if he can give you a straight forward yes or no answer
Guest Glycerin Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 the MCR and superboot for pulse doesnt work on the U8230! I've tested them and either the touchscreen not work or i get a loop at the startup! But i cooked up a superboot and a customrom for the u8230!
