So I'v bought B7610. And guess what - its minimum brightness is a way too high :( Even in my office and I can't imagine to use it as an e-book reader at night.

Is there a way how to adjust it?

Thanks

Edit: I'v discovered, that "the backlight" can be turned off. However I'm quite confused that this OLED screen has an additional backlight.

I agree that the in most situations, the backlight is not required, and very often much to bright.

However, when you are outside on a sunny day, the contrast of the OLED screen appears to be insufficient without the backlight enabled. I only switch it on in that situation.

Would be nice if, in automatic brightness mode, the backlight could get switched off completely when ambient light is below a certain (ideally configurable) level.

As i have the same phone, in my experience the backlight is too bright even if is switched off. But i discovered a trick. The black on amoled display is not illuminated, and the red color is a little bit more bright. I can suggest you to use a black backgrong on a dark red, this way is a night proof 4 reading!

Thanks for your answers.

I found that my old HTC Kaiser has much wider brightness range, which I find quite useful.

Actually I think I'll return B7610 anyway, I miss hardware joystick, find the problems with brightness annoying, the clear plastic is a mess... Although it has nice sides, for example the camera is really excellent. But despite having B7610 I still continue to use my old Kaiser :-/ Maybe I'll try Xperia X2 once the new software update is out. I know it has a slow processor, but maybe with some "downgrade" adjustments it can work quite good?
