erase me

Ok so from the top; i had the stock image. I believe i applied the december update though i cannot be sure of this.

I ran superboot and rooted the device.

I ran fastboot and installed the recovery image install. (this is when the reboot loop started)

I can't use ADB to restart into the recovery image (device not found) but i can use fastboot to remotely load the recovery image.

After doing this i made a nandroid backup, which i now belive to be a backup of a broken system.

I put modaco 1.8 from the online kitchen onto an sdcard; when i try to flash zip from sdcard i get "cant open /sdcard/1.8............zip"(bad) "installation aborted"

ive chmodded'd the zip to 777 and im beggining to run out of information.

can someone point me in the direction of the way to fix this and start again if needed?

UPDATE : Erase me; issue fixed with rollback to stock; re dec updated and applied 1.8 beta.
