Guest daskalos Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Well before telling the how-to's please post some details about your available RAM memory, I want to confirm if my adjustment worked first ... Currently my Total Available Ram is 148Mb Free Ram is 81Mb Using XXIL2 ROM With these active: - Large Indicator - Windows Default (Titanium) - Phone Dial skin enabled - MicroSd inserted - 3G on Without the above (I mean disabling them) I get 93Mb free RAM Please check available RAM with Windows Mobile default Settings, NOT with Samsung Settings (if you don't have the default Settings, you can access it by editing the registry: HKLM/Security/Shell/StartInfo...Change HideSettings from 1 to 0, Soft Reset) Can anyone please post their ROM version, total RAM and Free Ram and compare with mine?(be sure the only active apps are the ones listed above) If confirmed that with the above apps active, I have more RAM than your ROM have, I'll post the how to :( Edit: Guide Posted at Post # 2 Edited March 5, 2010 by daskalos

I just need another 6.5 ROM user to post his memory status, and I will post the how to's
Guest santoo Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Yup unfair comparison, 'cause you're using a 6.1 ROM which really have more free ram than 6.5 :( sorry, i missed the part where you were asking specifically for results from 6.5 roms :( anyway, looking forward to your tipps!

Guest zth Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 ROM Sample: For those who are lazy enough to try the technical procedures, here's a 6.5 ROM I modified with 8mb Page Pool. It's a XXIL2, which in my opinion is the most stable build. No apps awere added or removed, again just modified the page pool. Details of Free Ram of this ROM is posted at the first post: Download here: http://www.4shared.com/file/234763766/ba55...XIL2_8MBPP.html Enjoy Tips: -To have more Ram disable the Samsung Phone Pad (the +10Mb trick) -Install auto close patch by Chainfire Hi! This ROM is Multilingual or just WWE?
Guest santoo Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) daskalos, thanks a lot for your excellent guide!! one basic question regarding understanding: pagepool vs. ram is basically speed/responsiveness vs. multitaskingability - with cutoffs at certain values (e.g. on our devices you wouldn't really notice a difference between 12 & 20mb pagepool, apart from +8mb free ram), correct? oh, and on a more technical level: how does the pagepool work? when is data pooled? when it's first requested? (speeding up any subsequent usage?) or is it predictive? thanks again for the easy to follow guide <_< Edited March 5, 2010 by santoo
Guest boogiecornejo Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 just flashed this and so far so good...
