New micro SDHC - how to transfer files from existing card?

Not sure if this has already been answered but I couldnt find an answer so I am hoping somebody can help...

I have the 2gb micro SD card that came with the phone with custom rom 1.3 running with A2SD (formatted with 512/ext3 as suggested in numerous other threads).

I now want to replace this card with a larger 16gb card but I am at a loss how I should undertake this without having to reinstall everything from scratch.

I also dont have access to Linux as some suggestions involve formatting from linux.

Has anyone successfully transferrred the contents from one card to another via a windows machine? If yes, can you please outline the steps undertaken?

Thanks,

Who doesn't have access to linux? You obviously have some form of computer and linux is free.

Download a free vm client (vmware player 3 or virtualbox etc) install something like ubuntu (the install is fully automated in vmware player 3), plug your phone in and you can use to gparted to partition the new card (or do that on the phone in recovery) and the os can simply copy your files.

Plug phone in, copy files from card to computer, put new card in phone, copy files from computer to card in phone.

Or is it not that simple?

There is no requirement for linux, it can all be done from a windows machine.

Use Titanium to backup all your apps & settings to your 2GB SD card, copy all this to you computer, install your 16GB as you did your 2GB (i.e. use recover console to wipe device & create the partitions), copy the titanium backup to the Fat32 partition, use titanium to restore the apps, data & system settings, reboot and everything should be a-ok.

make sure your 16GB card is fast enough though! Class 4 minimum, I have had issues with 8GB Class 2 cards.
