Hi,

I am new to the N1 and your site…first of all thanks everyone for the great stuff here.

I immediately signed up for a paid membership :(

I hope that this is not a stupid question, but I downloaded the Desire ROM from the Kitchen, and installed it, but once I get to the screen “pull down to unlock” I can’t get any further, it seems that the screen and all the buttons are non-responsive.

I am assuming that I did something wrong….the only update that works is the ERE36B, but I tried all of the other ROM’s and just can’t get past the unlock screen.

Please help me here.

Thanks,

thanks for the quick response, i will try again, and post.

one more question, is it possible to flash over an old ROM, and thereby keep the current programs and settings? since i have a custom keyboard for another input language that is not supported [out-of-box] by the N1.

also, if i flash the cyanogenmod, i get HSDPA speeds, but google maps doesnt work, and wont let itself be installed, and if i install cynagen over the ERE36 ROM i can install maps.

thanks

As a rule, certainly with the MCR roms, you can flash each update/version straight over the top without a wipe, leaving all your settings/ apps etc as they were.

If you change roms you usually have to wipe, meaning everything will need to be reinstalled etc, there are backup apps out there.

thank you very much

....first of all, i was able to successfully install the desire ROM once i wiped everything including the delvik cache.

...second of all, i rewipped everything and installed the MCR ROM, since the desire ROM had too many things not working properly.

thanks again for all your help
