You can flash via Termianl Emulator via these commands if you have the img in the root of your sdcard: su flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-nexus-v1.6.2.img reboot recovery

Guest xkonni Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 wow... that really comes in handy when I wanna play around with different ROM's while not at home!!! actually, when you play with roms they usually come in update.zip format and you better apply the at the recovery.

Yeah, custom ROM's are usually easier to flash from the recovery. But the above method can be good if you're away from your computer when a new recovery lands among us <_< I recommend flashing custom ROM's through Recovery since you have a better way of handling Nand (or BART) backup from there so you can revert back to your previous ROM if the one you're flashing isn't what you want or if the flashing fails.

Actually most of the custom roms are left on root of your SD. For me when im out and feel like theres a need to change, i'll just boot to recovery and flash roms from there. beats having to use commands.. i really suck at commands...
