Complete Android / G2 Touch Newb

Hi all,

I've spent some time browsing the site and i think i have the basics of what is posible however i am lost where to start.

I have a Tmobile HTC G2 Touch running firmware 1.6.

I want to upgrade to either the latest official 2.0 or a leaked 2.1 but i am completely lost as to how to do this.

I've read briefly about rooting the phone and them loading custom roms but there is so much out there i don't know where to start!

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get started?

no you're not. there is no android 1.6 rom for the hero. the official version is 1.5.

I want to upgrade to either the latest official 2.0 or a leaked 2.1 but i am completely lost as to how to do this.

there is no other official update other than android 1.5 for the hero. 2.0.1 roms are pretty buggy at the moment.

first get the custom recovery image on your phone. from there on it's a piece of cake.
