i900 bluetooth can receive only pictures from PC

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

jpg/png/gif/etc from PC --> i900 = OK

any other file* from PC --> i900 = "Connecting with remote device failed."

any other file* from another BT phone --> i900 = OK

ANY file from i900 --> PC = OK

ANY file from i900 --> another BT phone = OK

(* i have tried txt/avi/wmv/mp3/doc/rar/xls)

However, if i follow these instructions first.. that is, access my PC's bluetooth folder via the File Explorer of the i900 and then transfer a file from the PC, i am able to transfer any type of file until I reboot the i900/PC

I don't know if this is relevant but in the BT device list of the i900, it says the PC and other BT phone are in the disconnected section. I can never connect and establish a pairing with them, no matter what passcode I put in (the i900 says "Your device did not connect with <blah>. The connection failed of the passcode is incorrect.").

Oh and the BT icon on the i900 has a "?" on it (turns to "?" after a successful transfer) <_<

Any ideas?
