can't get Goldcard to stick!

I'm getting really quite hacked off with my sd cards, I've got a whole collection of them, sandisk, kingston, transcend, generic, some 512Mb some 2Gb, but after following the goldcard procedure, when I reconnect the card to the PC it just asks to reformat the card so I can only assume the gold card hasn't "stuck".

I really don't want to waste anymore money on the cards ... I've checked, double checked and rechecked the numbers and then checked again so I'm at a complete loss!

Anyone know what might be wrong? Similar experience?

if youre on vista or win7, did you make sure you ran the hex editor as admin?

if you did, paste me your CID and I'll attempt to make you a goldcard.img. pulser knows a lot about goldcards, try PMing him.

and make sure you are pasting the goldcard.img to physical disk not logical.

And yes it's a physical disk ... now you've got me thinking ...

Thanks for pointing out the "Physical Drive" bit in the instructions ... I've read them a hundred times but still clicked on logical drive :-( feel embarrassed but now it's downgraded I should be able to root the phone!

I think I missed it because I have several drive attached to the PC so never noticed it.

Don't be embarrassed. Persistence is what counts & you're getting there. I went through all that last week & felt foolish more than once or twice <_<
