If you can get into fastboot mode on your phone, you hopefully can "boot" into recovery mode from your computer. See this post which includes instruction for booting (not flashing) into recovery mode from you computer: click me If you can get into recovery mode, you should be able to restore a previous backup or flash some other working ROM. Also, just to be sure, is your phone a T-Mobile Pulse, or is it the same phone, but from some other company? This is important to know. Most of the ROMs in this forum will not work correctly on devices other than the Pulse (unless they are modified). Edited March 9, 2010 by twrock

Then flash a custom ROM.

It is my suggestion you abandon your ambition of custom firmware if you adopt this approach before you end up with a real brick.

Guest twrock Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 minid33, there might be one more issue to mention. If Cool2010 has a Huawei U8220 that is not a T-Mobile Pulse, but is something else like my CHT 8000, the Pulse ROMs on this site might not work on his/her phone. The update-pulse-1.5-core-signed ROM does not work on my phone without modification. I bring this up because I noticed the PRC flag next to Cool2010's name and he/she has not confirmed what phone it is. Cool2010, what phone do you have? Is it a T-Mobile Pulse or is it branded by another company? I bought a CHT 8000 phone here in Taiwan. It is a Huawei U8220, but it is not completely compatible with the Pulse ROMs on this site. There might still be something you can do to fix it, but it would be helpful to know what exactly is the phone you have. Also, I assume you are using Windows XP on your computer. Is that right?

Guest twrock Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Thanks,my phone it's T-mobile pulse.i'm using windows XP. Ok. I was hoping someone much smarter than me would have some more ideas for you, but since no one has responded yet, here goes. Since it is now clear you have a T-Mobile Pulse, here's something else from the Wiki that I can point you to (maybe you already tried all of this, but it doesn't hurt to make sure): T-Mobile released what is known as the "December Update", available here. .... To revert back to stock status, and get everything back to the original, having the phone totally the same as when you got it (except updated with the legitimate "December Update"), you need to install the "December Update" ROM. You will lose everything on your device, but it should be in stock condition, therefore protecting your warranty. If you have to return your phone for repair, it is vital that you perform the above stock revert process as T-Mobile/Huawei can (and probably will) reject your warranty claim if they notice unofficial firmware has been installed or other similar unauthorised modifications. (Disclaimer for what follows: I am just a newbie; following any of my suggestions may be be completely worthless, or even worse, may brick your phone completely.) I am just guessing at this point, because I really can't think of anything else to do than what has already been suggested. If you are absolutely sure you are following all of the instructions that have been given so far and you still can't get anything to work, then maybe you could try flashing the original images (boot, system, and recovery) back onto your device one by one using the commands as described in the Pulse Wiki under the Fastboot section. Of course this assumes you have access to the original system images from your nandroid backup or that you can get copies of those from some other source. (NOTE: I do not know what flashing the original images back onto the device will do if you have already applied the December update. This might cause more trouble than you already have, so maybe you need to wait to see if someone will confirm this is a possibility or warn you that it won't work and will "break" your phone completely. I do not know. I can only suggest the things I've done, and that is one of the things I have done in my attempt to restore my system to the factory default state. It worked for me, but my phone is not a T-Mobile Pulse, and I have not applied the Pulse December update.) If flashing those images does work, hopefully you can boot into recovery mode on the phone (not from the computer) and wipe the machine (one of the three options in the factory original recovery image that I have). Then see if you can get it to boot cleanly. Good luck. I don't know what else to say. If none of that is helpful, someone who knows more than me will have to help you.
