Guest Hypper Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 Windows Mobile Device Center http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-...r-download.mspx Ok I was worried that somebody will mention this :-) Because I dunno why, but I have problem to synchronize my Omnia with this tool, coz the tool can't find it. Do I need any special drivers ? Or some configuration. I am running on custom made ROM by OCK

Guest Gibeon Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 For me, it auto-downloaded it via Windows Update. I'm on 64 bit.
Guest p0rky Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Download Windows Mobile Device Center. Install, it will then update via Windows Update. Make sure you go into your Omnia connection settings and disable "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" and make sure your Omnia is set to ActiveSync. Should sync right up.

Guest Hypper Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 I am back again, the Windows Update didn't help. The Windows Mobile Centre still shows mine omnia not plugged in.... Any other options ?

Any other options ? Stupid question perhaps, but did you set USB connection mode to ActiveSync under Settings->Connections->USB connection Mode? Can you try with a different USB port on the PC (if it's a desktop perhaps some on the back side)? just ideas.. Edited March 13, 2010 by DLCI
Guest norm883 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Hello, I have done all of this also and it will not sync under Windows 7, does it fine in Vista. I have a dual booting system setup but it is a major pain in Windows 7. I have lost my contacts several times. Luckily they are in the Vista system. Support code: 0x85010014 Any help appreciated. Norm993 another shot in the darkness - in the Omnia: ActiveSync->menu, connections I have USB and Default USB. no idea why are they 2x but under vista it appears to work with either of them. no idea if win7 is more "selective"
Guest robertjm Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Was your Omnia already tethered to the computer when you turned the computer on? I find that if that's the case on my system I have to unplug it and then replug it in for W7 to detect the device. Also, I don't have a default email client installed on my laptop so I get a warning msg every time I do it, which pops up behind any open windows. Until I acknowledge that warning msg I can't mount the Omnia. Robert I am back again, the Windows Update didn't help. The Windows Mobile Centre still shows mine omnia not plugged in.... Because I really like it. The menu you point out gives no options all are grayed out except STATUS. Also on this build I get a popup (phone) when I connect to the sync wire connecting to host. Never had that before just green circle on the computer. It must be a 6.5 thing that is not configuired with Windows 7 yet! Mostly there is probably something buried that I am not aware of yet. Thanks, Will continue to play an search. Norm883 Edited March 13, 2010 by norm883

Configure there a storage mode for the internal memory. Then wait for 30sec and do a soft reset. Afterwards go again there and change the mode to active sync. wait again 30sec and do another soft reset. I remember there was an old issue with that setting in the past that required soft resetting after changing...

I did all the above and still have this error. "Exchange ActiveSync encountered an error. If this condition persists, please contact your System administrator". I believe it is just the 64bit version of Windows 7. The 64bit version of Vista seems to work fine. Thanks, Norm883
