Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 OK, I see some people have started mentioning a MoDaCo forum meet. If you don't like the idea of meeting people you don't know, and think it's a little sad we feel the need to turn to internet "buddies" for friendship then think of it this way: It's an excuse for a pub crawl. So, is anyone _actually_ interested? Or just being the sarcastic bastards they are, once there's an idea of numbers maybe this could be taken a step further. Make your choice above....
Guest Will Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Locations ? Norwich 365 pubs ... London lots of pubs ... Will
Guest HelloDave Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Locations ? Norwich 365 pubs ... London lots of pubs ... Birmingham has lots of pubs too ;) (I know my profile says i'm from Bournemouth, but i'm at uni in Birmingham!)

Guest Gorskar Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I might go if it was in/near manchester, but I don't think I'd be travelling far for it.
Guest MECX Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 haha everybody wants it in there back yard im thinkin south of france maybe the bahamas---might as well make it styleish if nobodys gonna come ;)
Guest wirefree90 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I suspect you'll find Microsoft hosting a mobility forum in the not too distant future. Well someone else pays for the booze.......;)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Could try and have small meets and see how it goes ;)
Guest wideawake Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Go on then.... as long as alcohol is involved.
Guest idoru Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I don't know! There is only one thing worse than one drunk Irishman and thats a whole group of drunk English blokes! ;) Is suppose it would be alright to meet as long as we didn't talk about politics
Guest SirGaz Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Why not gatecrash Paul's trip to Redmond. I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't mind a few extra people going along
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 If you can blag it, fine by me ;) P
Guest madu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Just imagine 20 ppl in the pub all with the same phone ;) and each showing off his/her (doubt it :D) achievments  Guess I will have to use the 'Owner display' feature - hehe. What if we link all the phones together via IRDA and have a network classified as 1 supercomputer - then 4 out of 20 can have a great game of DOOM with no slowdowns, brilliant sound and lightspeed FPS  :D
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 We could finaslly do some conclusive tests over whether or not IR send and recieve works and under what conditions ;) Good response so fart though...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Multiplayer Worms  enough said ;)
Guest Thurstan Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 If people are keen on meeting up but not on travelling, and the numbers are big enough, why not have regional meetings?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 That's what I meant in my first post but I see I missed it out DOH!!!
Guest xanadu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Go on then.... as long as alcohol is involved. Oh yeh,...and free women too  Might consider it then ;)
Guest vampyre69 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Hmm Brighton why? 1) It's by the sea 2) Loads of Pubs & Major Clubs 3) I don't live there ;-) 4) It has 1 & a 1/4 Peirs 5) Has plenty to offer both Hetro & Homo sexuals 6) You can by some famous out of date Brighton Rock
Guest Mark Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Sounds like a good idea.... We just need some people to arrange it all now!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 A central area is probably best, Brum etc. Depends where everynoe is tohugh ;)
Guest HelloDave Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 A central area is probably best, Brum etc. You know it makes sense  It depends whether we were having one national meet or regional ones though, but with only 50 votes, some regional meetings could be a bit empty!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I reckon one big one would be best... From experience, half the people who voted 'yes' won't turn up anyway! P
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Hay Andy we could do a small test meet down your end as I've seen that a few members come from our neck of the woods. Also you have the Imax which I bet you STILL hav'nt been to after my recomendation ;)
