Just started getting problems as of yesterday with my phone. I've posted in the Waveseure issue thread, as it seemed to be this that was causing my issue.

However, I've now removed Waveseucure, and I'm still getting problems.

The phone keeps resetting (although not a full reset I dont think) It seems to freeze, then I see the T-mobile screen, and then it comes back.

The weird thing is that I then get a notification for a text I receieved yesterday, but have cleared the notification several times. I also seem to get a no SIM message occasionaly.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Are you running a custom ROM?

Have you wiped & reflashed recently?

Yes, I'm running version 1.7 of the custom Modaco ROM. I reflashed the ROM this morning to try and fix the issues.

I also faced this problem when I played around with my BT - Headset.

The phone hung up when I tried to deactivate BT and jumped directly back to the bootscreen - three times in a row <_<

Weird ... I got the no SIM message also, but a reboot fixed this (I put out the battery).

Seems to be a bug in Android imho.

Edit:

I'm also running the 1.7 MCR

Hmm

Did you wipe as well?

I wasn't having the sim issues(much, I had it once) but I was having loads and loads of reboots, and wiping and restoring solved it for me.

I'd backed up everything with Titanium first, and only restored some of the apps, and the phone seems to be working loads better. <_<

I had that problem as well with both the custom rom and the december update. (Odd thing is it would turn itself ON as well even after I turned it OFF) <_<

apparantly it could be a hardware fault.

Mines gone back to t-mobile for "repair". Lets see how long this one lasts when I get it back.

Thanks for the replies. Its still happening, so think I might have to go for a complete wipe.

Whats the best / easiest way of backuping up the important stuff? I think most important is contacts, but it would be great to get it all backed up in one lump to put back on easily.

Also, whats involved in the 'wipe' option? Do I need to re-root, put the boatloader on etc?

Ok, think I've fixed things.

Incase anyone needs advice on this:-

I backed-up everythig with Sprite Backup ($4.95 in market) - this does texts, contacts etc

Also backedup apps with Titanium Backup, which is either downloadable or built into custom ROMS (havn't actually used this much)

Wiped using the 'Wipe Factory Reset' from recovery

Then I chose to install the standard Vanilla ROM, rather than T-mobile (so far have found this better than the t-mobile one)

Restored the bits I wanted using Sprite backup. Most apps were fine without any further work, but I've had to mess around reinstalling some and recovering data using Titanium backup

So far, everything seems to be working much better!
