Guest designgears Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Well this just hit the market early this morning, have been using it for a few hours, it has officially replaced my stock browser!
Guest brunoM83 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 LCR 1.1.1 its ok better than official version <_< take up
Guest Piter1225 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Using it right now, fast as hell, wish to use it with lag-free eclair rom.
Guest Seth Cold Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 anyone tried in donut? i was about to downgrade...
Guest Piter1225 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I'm using on donut, like I said - fast as hell
Guest Quipeace Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I'm still waiting for opera mobile, but I suppose it's worth a try right <_<.
Guest masterpfa Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 anyone tried in donut? i was about to downgrade... Tried it uninstalled it For me nowhere as good as the stock browser of Dolphin. I tried a search from Opera Mini 5 for a youtube video and even though a Thumbnail was shown, wouldn't play the video, also did not njoy the browsing experience IMHO a step backwards, I'll await the full version Opera Mobile xx. (running vanilla ROM 1.5)
Guest navygino Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) cannot use in China........................................................................... Edited March 11, 2010 by navygino
Guest kylenk Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 The idea is it chews less data and loads pages faster. That said it runs brilliantly on donutand is great for browsing when you havE terrible reception or 2g
Guest kylenk Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 There appears to be no integrated way to close the app? Anyone got a solution side from killing it externally
Guest AcerDroid Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 It is hella fast! loads pages faster than on my desktop using google chrome. Thier compression is great! You can use Home++, a great home rrplacement and the task manager/killer is integrated there so no more external or additional apps needed to kill a program.
Guest kylenk Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Not really a fan of home ++.seemed a little buggy. Im running Advanced launcher from xda forums on stock aus rom. Couldnt run better. Guess il use a third party task manager to kill it til they fix this
Guest Mythrix Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 It works quite fast! But I'm using Dolphin on 1.6 with the multitouch kernel, which really makes zooming a lot handier. Well I guess doubletapping for zoom might work too... will definitely test it out a bit more and see if I might want to use it as the main browser. I also recently switched back to Opera as main browser on the PC, so I could use Opera link for bookmarks and stuff. <_<
Guest m4ss Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 perfect... smoother... but how can i close ?!!! If I close with "back" hardware key it won't close... :-(
Guest bais Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 When you tap on settings (the tool icon) isn't there an Exit button?
Guest linuxluver Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Well this just hit the market early this morning, have been using it for a few hours, it has officially replaced my stock browser! I've installed it. It has a really nice feel to it. I'm liking it. Adding multi-touch would make it perfect.....but lack of it isn't a show stopper. I'm not a pinch/squeeze fan anyway.
Guest linuxluver Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) perfect... smoother... but how can i close ?!!! If I close with "back" hardware key it won't close... :-( Press the Home button. It will die a natural death when a later task needs the memory and the system kills old ones. Or use a task killer to kill it if you're in a hurry. But Android doesn't really need a task killer. The system kills old apps as new ones require memory. Where people run into trouble is allowing too many apps to start themselves up in the background for updates / notifications. Keep a lid on those via their settings and you almost never need a task killer. If you want to clear History, then touch the History button and Clear All. Then press Home.
