Just saw that linked to on Twitter. I know HTC have been all "2.1 is coming, Lol!" for ages but it didn't bother me that much, certaininly not as much as some people on here who seemed to think they might be able to take legal action because it was their right to a new ROM but having been patiently blasé about the update I do feel a bit miffed now. If they'd just given a release date months ago when people were starting to get antsy about the update then all of the speculation and moaning could have been avoided. As it is it feels like they're holding the ROM back with the only effect being that people who are locked into contracts with months and months left are left waiting. I can't believe the effect on sales would be massive. If anything the company could end up better off as they'd be known as the company that supports their products, as opposed to the one that holds things back.

For someone who was "patiently blasé" you seem a bit edgy about not getting an update this month. It comes when it comes, people really need to get over this, so boring.

I was just expecting it to be released this week or something, because everyone had said "Mid March" for ages, now it's maybe mid April and perhaps not even then. I presumed since Paul had said there was no point in working on a Legend ROM because the official one was due that it was the case too. Oh well!

I hear what your saying but with the way alot of new release to the android market are requiring 2.0 plus before they can be used it is slightly annoying..

Oh I dunno, like I said, if they'd given a date then it'd all have been avoided.

Also, apparently the Legend is being delivered to some people who had preordered.

I'm using a stable Villain 2.1 rom now so HTC can go and f**k themselves. I don't need any of the features that don't work in it.

I'll be getting the Xperia X10 when it comes out. I don't think SE will come out with a better version 4 months after I buy it unlike HTC... with how long it takes SE to release phones; it'll be the full 18 months of my contract before a better SE Android handset comes out.

I'm glad I have 2 contracts now. Got the Hero in November and I can't upgrade that phone for 14 months so I'll just get a phone on my other contract which will definitely not be an HTC with their plans to release 84 android phones a year.

What's going to happen to the people that will buy the Legend? 6 months down the line they'll come out with the Lord or some crap.

I heard the X10 is launching with Android 1.6 and won't be getting 2.1 till late summer?

Who cares? The shipping rom for the Legend has just hit the web. Give it like a week and you'll be running 2.1.
