Guest z0nic Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) Hi all, If you, like me, sync your mail through an Exchange server, you have to enter a password every time you turn on the screen (either at boot, or just waking it up from "sleep"). As far as I know, this refers to all 2.1 builds running Sense. Oh, and I've tried a lot of 'em. This is not the case with 1.5 builds running Sense, neither with 2.1 ASOP builds (as far as I can remember anyway). I find this feature extremly annoying... a real hassle... So, the big question is, is there a way to disable this feature? I cannot find any way. Driving me insane. What happened to the good ol' "Unlock pattern"? Seems like it's removed from Sense in 2.1 builds. Anyway, that's my two cents.. or whatever... Cheers --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I realized something. This can actually be my Exchange server's fault. Security policy and all that crap... EDIT 2: I found the sollution! 1. Start Exchange Management Console. 2. Go to Organization Configuration. 3. Select Client Access. 4. Double click on the policy you want to change (If you haven't changed it it's probably called "Default"). 5. Go to the password tab. 6. Untick "Require password". 7. Apply/OK. 8. If you already set up your Exchange sync connectin-thingy, you probably need to delete it and add it again. Edited March 12, 2010 by z0nic

I can't ask my admins to change the policy for two ppl. Just like winmo where it could be disabled through a hack. I guess it can be changed. Anyone know how?

You might try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...amp;postcount=9. I didn't bother testing it, since disabling the password check on the server works for me. Cheers.
