Easy way to export ROM of current phone configuration?

Is there a guide to "exporting" the current ROM state of your phone? Think of it as a "super backup" state if you will.

Obviously all chefs have to start with a ROM somewhere that was exported from a phone. At least I'm assuming that's how things got started. Am I correct?

Thanks!!

Actually not really. The chefs build a ROM from scratch. The ROMs you download from them aren't exported from a phone but are actually built the way you download them from the kitchens. It would be nice though if M$ didn't remove the backup feature they used to have in Active Sync when the mobile devices still used volatile memory. It would still come in handy. You would have to use third party backup software to do that now.

Bummer then. I'm using Resco Backup right now, but I was looking for a way I could create a ROM so I could check out other ROMs on the web, but get the phone back to where I have it right now if I don't like the alternatives, not to mention having to reinstall all those applications if necessary!!

Can I assume that different builds of WM6.5 would still have the same registry format under the hood so Resco could serve my needs?

Resco should work fine with wm6.5 the same as it does with wm6.1. One thing I do is with my backup program make a full backup, flash and do what I want with the other ROMs, then when I want to go back flash the ROM that is the base ROM of the backup I made then restore the backup.
