Well, nobody replied so I spent the evening doing it myself.

I have successfully received a full size MMS on o2 (Simplicity) sent from an iPhone on Orange.

If anyone wants my Mms.apk then just ask and I'll provide it.

As the user-agent is changed for both sending and receiving it sends full sizes images and receives them.

I could send full size images before changing the user-agent though.

I need to do some more testing with what I've got here. For some reason my friend on O2 cannot receive messages from me, my device wont send the message but I can send to my own Orange SIM card which is in my iPhone.

Or if anyone on O2 is willing to give me their number so I can try.

I have different results with the SenseUI apk than I do with the AOSP one. WIth the HTC version I can download MMS's, with AOSP I get a download error - might be work just trying one from the Desire ROM and see how that works for you.

You could also try Handcent which lets you change the agent to various things.

Handcent allow changing the agent for the sending message only (not sure if that is the case but the settings only appear in "Send message settings"). My problem is showing tiny picture when receiving mms. I did try change it, but it is not working for me :(

Thanks lhurtado! I use the second link and it works! It does took me a while to figure out how to push the app to the phone. For those who are new to ADB like me here is how to setup your computer so you can adb access to your phone

http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-se...ndroid-devices/

p.s. After pushed, go to Message(app): Menu -> settings -> Custom User-Agent, change to IPhone or any other devices of your choice, then make sure reboot phone after changed to see the effect.

Can anyone (modify and) re-build the stock Mms app as a normal app on the market. That mean we can install it without rooting the phone? Or is it impossible? :)
