MCR 3.2b5 Not recognising new MP3s

HTC Hero, running MCR 3.2 b5.

Recently I've been having a problem where new MP3s don't seem to be recognised by the stock music app. I used to be able to drop MP3s in the "Music" folder on my SD card, and they'd show up in the Music app, but this doesn't seem to be happening any more; any new music added to the SD isn't showing up in the music app. Music on the SD already listed in the app is working fine, same as usual.

I can view the added music files in Astro file manager and even play them, but on doing so the music app launches, plays the file but the ID3 tags don't seem to be recognised as the artist/title/etc is not displayed at this point.

I've checked the music files on my computer and the ID3 tags are all present and correct, filenames are all accurate, no special characters in the filenames.

Any thoughts? Any input greatly appreciated.

download an app off of the market called sdrescan and use it when you add new content to your sd card it will refresh the music app, gallery etc..

or restarting your phone should do the trick..
