Extracting phone firmware

Hello everyone!

I am using this phone with Daskalos' 6.5.5 megalite which seems to be working well. The phone firmware is XXIJ1 , with XXIJ2 being the original rom that I had. I wish to flash a new phone firmware, before which I want to backup the previous phone firmware. Is there guide which shows how to.

Hi. The phone backup is not necessary in this case. You will not loose any data flashing phone only.

Here's very good working phone module from Secany. I use that with megalite 6.5.5 as well. Very quick gps/wifi access.

Also You can think about flashing every other part of Your rom to the newest (of course on Your own risk:) I prefere e-boot:

The best for me is to flash with every 4 parts of rom together with the sim card inside and phone connected using activesync whole time with pc (settings). Then after preconfiguring - disconnect phone from pc, wait 10 minutes than do the hard reset using *2767*3855#. After that install everything - should work great..

That's really informative. Although I have a csc and phone firmware from k and l versions. How can I backup the one I have at present?

First dump whole rom using WinHex to louvre.mli:

The question is why?

There are almost every versions of any rom parts in the web so U don't need 2 dump Your's. Just write down number of versions You've got now and search the web 4 them. It's hint to do it much easier... <_<

I have realized now that there is no way of backing up the phone and csc firmware.

Does anyone know of any links to ij1 firmware at all (for phone) and o2 csc. I guess till I find a backup I shall not upgrade.
