Guest masterpfa Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Hi I was wondering if it was possible to install the power control widget on to an Android 1.5 device. Is this available as a separate apk? I have not been able to find it in the market and unfortunately the Pulse is currently only available as Android 1.5 (I have heard that it is available via Open Home, but I was really just looking for the widget and did not want to purchase a home screen replacement I may not like, just for the one widget) Any ideas please? <_<
Guest deeone Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Same here mate, i only found one port of 2.1 application, Genie Widget and i posted it. Unfortunately no one made the Power Control WIdget for 1.5... Hope that someone with the right knowledge take care of our request <_<
Guest shokka9 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 dont think so, as its in the settings.apk Maybe if someone knows how to pull the bits needed for the it to work and then make apk??? But i really doubt it. Also i think it needs at least 1.6 OS for it to work as its a system thing... <_<
Guest kendon Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 while you're at it, please mod it that the stupid "background sync" gets changed to vibrate... <_<

Well some good news for me, I got my Hero back from T-Mobile repairs at lunchtime today and just got in from work, "So tonight Mathew, I shall be Gold Carding!!" How are these Eris leaks, any good, have the issues sorted out yet. (Some reading up for me I guess!) If not CyanogenMod for Hero here I come again. At least I can get my Power Control Widget that way
Guest StrongOneX Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Download Open Home and this Power Control widget will be available both in Home and Sense
Guest volatile_ink Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Download Open Home and this Power Control widget will be available both in Home and Sense Confirmed. Just installed OpenHome and am using three of its widgets in Rosie.
Guest shenshang Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 mmm but its white, and sense ui is black =\
Guest masterpfa Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Download Open Home and this Power Control widget will be available both in Home and Sense I don't mind buying apps from the market, but my bank charges me £1.50 ($2.25) for every foreign transaction, so for that reason I refuse to purchase any apps in Dollars unless essential :) Been back on my CyanogenMod-Hero for a few days now, so have managed to get that feature (2.1 ROM)

Just posting to empathise. I'm in the UK with Lloyds TSB. They charge £1 per transaction. It's a damn shame the market doesn't support paypal, as they do the currency exchange themselves, but with google checkout being a rival system I guess that'll never happen. Occasionally one can buy via another route but then usually that means losing out on free updates (at least via the market). Damned annoying all round. As a result I try to avoid such purchases too. Hmm, seems there isn't a smiley for thinking of arson but not really meaning it & too full of pizza anyway.

Turns out it's £1.25 a time for natwest :) . Glad I never went overboard with the app buying. Edited March 21, 2010 by Xtiro
Guest Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) Does that apply with Visa Credit cards as well? EDIT: Doesn't look like it. Phew. Well, it wouldn't have been the end of the world, I bought loads of apps about 6 months ago and haven't noticed anything untoward. I'm fine guys, really, don't worry. Edited March 21, 2010 by Guest

Guest AychTeeSee Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Hi there! I looked into this a while back when I was starting my Vanilla Cupcake ROM. The widget itself is integrated into 1.6's settings.apk- with the right amount of java knowledge, one could easily merge the widget into the 1.5 settings.apk. EDIT: Didn't see shokka's response. Guess my response was a little bit unneeded, eh? :) Andrew Edited March 22, 2010 by AychTeeSee

Guest masterpfa Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) £1.50 with Halifax! Only thing I don't like about the Marketplace! I think the currency in MarketPlace should be country dependent, I mean "MarketPlace" already knows where you are or should be, ( Market Enabler aside!) so why not display all apps in the local currency, with an allowance for currency fluctuation. Chances are they have already looked into this :) @Andrew get with the program young man, or do you still think you are on Vacation ;) Edited March 26, 2010 by masterpfa

Guest zorm Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 What's that supposed to mean? Nothing insulting. TBH I can't really recall, but vaguely remember getting the impression you had an unusual sense of humour. Just ignore me - that works for most people :)
