Guest volatile_ink Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) I know 2.1 is on the horizon and will be with us soon and can't wait for an MCR version of the official Hero 2.1 release. Tried a few Eris ports and am happy (at the moment!) with HeroDroid. In the mean time with all the activity over at XDA with Eris ports will MoDaCo release a version of his own? No one has heard from Paul on the hero board for a while now. There was some cryptic message on his twitter though... Who knows. Seems strange how everyone is clucking for the official 2.1 rom and the roms that will spin off from it. There are plenty of good 2.1 roms out there now.
Guest volatile_ink Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 No Is that an official press release?

Shame, I know Eris-ports are just a stop-gap until Hero 2.1 comes along. It would be nice to see an MCR-Eris port. IMHO, MCR has always been the best (even with beta's). After trying several Eris-ports, I'm thinking I should stick with MCR 3.2 as it's just so rock-solid. Kinda feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now! <_<
Guest venturerider Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) No, there are not plenty of good 2.1 ROMs for the Hero out there. All of them have issues and/or are lacking, more or less seriously. Edited March 15, 2010 by venturerider

Re-flashing MCR as we speak. <_< Thanks for the feedback.
Guest Higgsy Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Is that an official press release? Yeah geez an official Higgsy press release
Guest jay8ee Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 I am using the BeHero port from htcpedia. I have had no issues with it so far. just as fast as mcr with no teknologist : )
Guest woofers1803 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 There might be some good GSM Hero ports, but there's nothing use-able for the CDMA Hero. Tried Damage Control, had TONS of errors, Fresh doesn't have app2sd, and anything else out there is incomplete at best! It would be really nice to see something coming the direction of the CDMA Hero!
Guest Dr. dre Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Will MoDaCo release a version of his own? Paul wont put his hands on a leaked or an unstable release for some other device, all he's waiting for is the official Hero 2.1 ROM to come.
Guest masterpfa Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 There are plenty of good 2.1 roms out there now. Totally agree there have been many 2.1 ROMS out there since 2009 before these Eris leaks, until officially released they are all going to be buggy and have an issue or two! Toss a coin, read the reviews, takes your choice
