Guest Khalil Khabibullin Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Hey People, I just installed MDC 3.2, but have noticed that there is no "only 2G" option. Is it possible to have my Hero use only 2G, cause it really tries to switch to 3G, but the coverage is bad. Also I have updated radio, in case the option is linked with that. Thanks in advance!
Guest Dan Mullen Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Hey People, I just installed MDC 3.2, but have noticed that there is no "only 2G" option. As MCR3.2 is based on a "3" (the mobile network) ROM, I don't think that option is there anymore. Paul may be working on something to fix this, but if you really need it I'd suggest going back to MCR3.1.
Guest essamo Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 or just goto phone and punch in *#*#4636#*#* and scroll down to WCDMA preferred. and select GSM only. click turn off radio button. and wait and turn it back on. then press home to get back.
Guest Khalil Khabibullin Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks, it really worked!
Guest Higgsy Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks, it really worked! install anycut from the market, you can then set a shortcut to phone options and change between 2g/3g
Guest Dreaming Sheep Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Nice one.. Stupid question though, how do you set it to use both, which setting do i need? I keep missing calls and messages whenever I loose 3G signal.

I was disappointed when this option disappeared, and have wanted it back since. It would have come in handy a few weeks ago when I was in a 2G-only area and needed to save battery power, but I'm happy to have it now. Thanks again.
