Guest barki82 Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Honestly I don't understand you guys. Microsoft is disabling all great features of windows mobile 6.5 in the 7 series. According to infos from pocketnow: No file manager, no user-replaceable memory, new DRM, no cut & paste, no multi-task... If all theese are true, it's just a sh...t like iphone.

Well, as you know XDA& Modaco communities really, truly, silently agree & accept all MS limitations, problems and corporate policies :) Just a thought- Do you really think that the issues you listed above will still be valid, as soon as we get hands on the real WP7 ROMs and figure out the drivers? ;) :P
Guest colonel_butt Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Firstly MS has said it will continue the 6.5 series, but it will be renamed "Windows Classic" as you know, many devices use Windows Mobile as a framework, including many satnavs, for example. Secondly, this dump is from a x86 emulator, so will not make it to any devices. Lastly, it will be portable to most 6.5 devices via our friends at xda-dev. This will leave the choice up to the user. my guess is that devices with capacitance screens and no keyboards would be fun to run WinMo 7 on. but for the B7610 and HTC pro 2 and other such devices Windows Classic is a more compelling prospect. I have my iphone for fun :), buts it battery life and lack of keyboard mean it is redundant for most of what I need in a phone. Edited March 17, 2010 by colonel_butt

And I don't understand 1 thing. Why Samsung release JC (March 2010) ROM for I8000 and for us nothing new since December?

Product management-one gets updates, others don"t, But if you look at the crappy hardware that HTC deliveres in each and every phone it touches...I would say samsung is much better. IMHO I don't expect any surprises from WP7 at least until July 2010. Until then it's the iphone and android that will take most of the users, that have to choose new phones.
