I have a rather odd problem. Whenever I try to access the camera I get a "problem with camera driver" error. Naturally orange knows nothing of this problem and refused to help me.. which was hardly a surprise. I reinstalled my ROM, but no use. Anyone has any ideas how to fix it?

Welcome to the site

This problem has been posted before as far back as 11th December so you're not alone.

I cannot seem to find a fix at the moment but some members have also posted that MMS starts

playing up as well.

Back inDecember Orange gave exactly the same reply you had.

I had this problem but i turned the phone off, took the battery out, put it back on again and it worked...

I just did a hard reset. Did not help. Obviously it is not "factory settings" enough to fix my problem. If anyone has any other ideas I'll be more than happy to try something else.. BTW what do all the other BIOS options do?

I know it sounds obvious but do you have the camera plugged in before you start the MMS camera software? If you don't it will bring up the "problem with camera driver" error, which in plain english means "the camera is unplugged". I used to get this occasionally if the camera wasn't pushed hard into the port on the bottom of the SPV, so move it around a bit and see if you get any luck. If not it looks like either the connector on the SPV or the camera is faulty; if your SPV syncs in its cradle OK then I would say it's the camera itself, in which case you'll need a replacement from Orange.

Ironically before I bought IA Album the easiest way to quit the (then very buggy) MMS camera app when it got stuck, which was quite often, was to pull the camera out - then it would bring up the driver error and I was able to quit. Easier than pulling the battery out!

A simple restart usually sorts this out.

OK, an accurate problem description:

I plug the camera in, launch the picture manager pragram that came with the Orange UK update, it shows the camera there. I click on it, and in starts making the high-pitched noise it usually makes, and the spinning circle comes up as the phone tries accessing it. 10 seconds later the error box comes up. Nothing wrong with my phone connector, as it syncs fine and everything. So is my camera ****ed then?

Sounds like it's the camera then  Easiest way to find out is go into an Orange shop and try one of their SPV cameras - if it works you know yours is screwed.
