Guest rossyl Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) Hi, All my MP3's (have tried playing on Kinoma and TCMP Player) now sound weird/sort of garbles. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I'm running a normal ROM DXIA5 I think. I've got SRS Wow, which has worked fine for months. Also got ig08, mem aid, and a number of other apps, but this has just randomly happened. Please help, my phone was set-up perfectly I'll cry if I need to do everything again! If i do is there anyway to ghost copy my phone so i can reload everything without having to reinstall every little thing? I even downloaded a MP3 onto My Storage (all other MP3's are on Storage Card) and that sounded corrupt as well. Thanks R So nearly all my ringtones are now corrupt. When i try and select them through settings, it says they cannot be selected as the file is corrupt. - now fixed Edited March 25, 2010 by rossyl
Guest rossyl Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 anyone? I've gone into settings and removed recently installed programs. I've gone into Registry Editor and made sure the .mp3 and .wav Default file associations were mp3file and wavfile. I've soft reset. Not sure what else to do.

Not sure what else to do. try removing all the mp3's and put them back in if that doesn't work go to start settings connection usb and make it mass storage mode, then put the ringotones into my storage and then transfer them via file explorer inside the phone. if those don't work then maybe the mp3's are actually corrupt.
Guest rossyl Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) tthen put the ringotones into my storage and then transfer them via file explorer inside the phone.. The ringtones were the cause of MemMaid, it moved them to strage, I just moved them back. Simple. Edited March 25, 2010 by rossyl
Guest rossyl Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 The ringtones were the cause of MemMaid, it moved them to strage, I just moved them back. Simple. But, MP3's were still gardbled. I went through uninstalling a load of stuff...then re-installing. I figured out that KINOMA FREEPLAY - that damn programme was causing it. Thing is though, it is, functionality wise, the best programme out there. It displays everything as I'd like. I've uninstalled it and re-installed it...but no joy...any tips? This is not resolved the problem is back! I put the programmes back on the phone, including Kinoma. Went to play an MP3...it's completely gone again, all Mp3's seem corrupted they all sound garbled and strange. I'll take all the MP3's off and put some back on to see what happens. But this is getting rather annoying now. Anyone got any ideas?
Guest Charles@Kinoma Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Hello, I posted a response in your other thread here. -- Charles Wiltgen
Guest rossyl Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Think it's best to update this thread Charles, as I don't think its a Kinoma problem. I'm running DXIA5 ROM which is very recent. I really don't understand what is causing the problem. I even downloaded a MP3 onto My Storage (all other MP3's are on Storage Card) and that sounded corrupt as well. Anyone got any ideas? Would appreciate all ideas. PLEEEEASE HELP!! Guest brandogg Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 I replied to your other thread - I'm guessing your input/output gain settings in SRS WOW are too high. You should ditch SRS WOW altogether, and if you're just listening to MP3s, I highly recommend Pocket Player.

Also dont set your SRS WOW Installed Item Settings to Headphones when these are not connected. Always use the Internal Speakers.....as always...... louder is not necessarily better.

Thanks guys, that may or may not have been the problem, however I did turn SRS WOW off and had the exact same problem. So I doubt that was it. I have now formatted the SD card, using the phone's hard reset menu, I think this may have fixed the problem. As sample MP3's I've managed to download seem fine. However, I need to load some good quality MP3's on and have a listen, then load programme by programme to see where the issue might be. Shall update later this weekend hopefully.
Guest brandogg Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Hard resetting the storage card alone shouldn't fix anything like this. SRS WOW is always on your internal storage, I believe, as is the registry, etc.
Guest rossyl Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Hard resetting the storage card alone shouldn't fix anything like this. SRS WOW is always on your internal storage, I believe, as is the registry, etc. Agree, but it definitely did fix it. I uninstalled all prgrams EXCEPT SRS WOW and SPB, deleted MP3s, downloaded MP3's to another part of my phone, did many soft resets...and it was only fixed following a format of my SD card where the MP3's originally were. I get the feeling something on there was corrupting MP3's, what and how I have no idea.
