Guest dooey5 Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Hi I follow the guide how to root the N1. But it can't get it to work. I have unlocked the bootloader, but i can't get the su privilege. :) I just rooted mine using this link: http://android.modaco.com/content/google-n...-the-nexus-one/ It worked for me - when I launch terminal and type "su" it prompts to allow or deny root access... However, I cannot seem to chmod any folder permissions and I can't figure out why...I keep getting error "Bad mode"....
Guest Nowme Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 I used the same as you. Everything seem ok., But i can't get the same windows as the picture in the guide. hmmm....? How to turn on/off SU when im using the phone? I'm also trying to get the market enabler to work. and other things that need su rights.
Guest Professor K Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Hi guys, I did the same. Now I have that application "Superuser permissions" in my list, but when I'm launching it, it shows just empty screen. When I'm launching application that requires root permissions, again empty screen with "SU Request" at top appears, and application hangs. What did I do wrong? Kind regards, A.K.

Okay, I'll try to answer myself. Probably something gone wrong while flashing - have no idea. In any case I then tried to flash Amon RA Recovery, as there are in several sources information that that's what is needed for rooting, instead of superboot, despite it is written on the XDA that it requires superboot as prerequisite. In any case, after flashing Amon RA Recovery, it appeared that it doesn't work (hangs immediately after booting into it, only way to do something with it - remove battery). So I redownloaded and double checked MD5 of superboot and flashed it again. And you know - it started to work, root I mean. Recovery still not working, but that's different story. Have no idea what exactly step of those helped - but if you stuck like me - try them all.
Guest Professor K Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 After playing around a while found the real reason: ADB debugging should be turned on the phone on. That the one and only reason of behavior we're encountering.
