Guest fabiocampos Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Sometimes it takes nearly 3-5 minutes after hitting Power Off to actually turn off. Is this happening to anyone else? Running Desire ROM For me not. My phone off after 5 seconds. Whats Desire version do u used? Cheers.
Guest lars1110 Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 yea what version of the desire rom are you running. if your not running the latest version upgrade to it and wipe first!!! you must wipe with a17. atleast i think dont quote me on that but just wipe in case and tell us what happens. and if that doesnt work take your phones sd card out and turn the phone on then try to power off. if it powers off fine then format your sd card. its happened to me before surprisingly
Guest JonnyRockets Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) I'm using A14. Just tried turning off my phone. Been 4 minutes so far =\ And yes I wiped before flashing A14. And I don't want to upgrade to A19 since I don't want to wipe again and also deal with the missing APN issues. I guess no one else has encountered this? Edited March 25, 2010 by JonnyRockets
Guest ErGo_404 Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Yes I have, with the Cyanogen mod rom (the latest), it takes a very long time for my Nexus to shutdown. Last time I removed the battery because I was in a hurry..
Guest WhiteHartMart Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Mine takes forever also - Alpha 19. I'd say 5 mins shutdown time.
Guest Biodome Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Happened to me with Cyanogen's rom baked in the kitchen, pulled battery instead.
Guest dipeshb Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I have experienced this also, although it doesn't consistently take this long, sometimes its quicker. What does worry me is IF this is so a graceful shutdown takes place, why is it that when I do an adb reboot, this gets done almost immediately! Does this mean that doing an adb reboot recovery is not a good thing for our phones? Any knowledgeable people please chime in! Thanks
Guest deanesn Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Mine does not take 5 mins or it hasn't yet. I have alpha 19 and i do wipe between versions and it takes good 2-3 mins where before on 16-17-18 did take less then a min, but I really don't care coming from a blackberry world where it takes 5-10 mins to boot up.
Guest Gib W. Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 HTC Sense ROM up to alpha 16 would sometimes (but not always) take a long time to shut down. Sometimes rebooting has gone into an infinite loop of reboots. I had problems with alpha 19 so stopped using the alphas. The Cynogen mod that's current this week also sometimes shuts down very slowly for me. Like others, I have pulled the battery.
Guest DagsJT Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Funnily enough I've just came to this site while waiting for mine to power off, been a couple of minutes now. Using A19 so nothing to do with not using the latest rom.
Guest chnrxn Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) Guys, I just tried this after gathering some more information elsewhere on the Internet. Unmount the SD card first. The shutdown will take place in under 1 second. I'm using HTC Desire on 2.1. Edited July 3, 2010 by chnrxn
