So as far as i had heard, Paul here at modaco has said the the desire will be locked down and you will not be able to root it.

And yet this site says you can with superboot?

It seems dodgy to me, but i just wanted to get confirmation that Paul hasn't released a superboot for the desire :)

yeah that is what i figured. Some people were jumping at the chance to show that the desire was rootable and so they should buy it instead of the N1...Just wanted to be able to tell them they were wrong before they spent money on a phone :)

yea i thought about buying a desire, but now i know thats its impossible to root, im not sure anymore :P

It said on quite a few websites that Paul has got root access for the Desire and Legend but not write access yet. He said its hard but did not say impossible.

Can someone confirm that Paul can never do it?
