Guest theplayer Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Hi I noticed in Programs > Settings > Power Management, there is an option to activate a screen saver. However there are no screen saver files on the SPV. Are the SS for the SPV different from the windows SS? How can I get hold of a compatible SS for my SPV and does the SS eat away at the already over worked battery? Cheers Matt
Guest Pidder Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I think the best screen saver is the blank screen you get if you activate it in the options. An active screensaver would infect battery life for shure (and i think it would get on my nerves).
Guest mike-oh Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Correct, no screen savers other than turning the screen off. Yeah it probably would munch battery power. Personally i don't believe one is neccessary, whats the point in wasting the battery whilst it stuck in your pocket? The reason why screen savers were invented in the first place was to prevent screen burn when using a CRT. Whether or not a similar thing can occur with LCD and TFT displays i'm unsure (but i'm edging on no)
Guest lutzh Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Hi there, my prefered screensaver is dockware- gives you a big fat clock on the desk when the phone is in the cradle... Cheers, Lutz
Guest madu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I personally set it to NEVER and am now enjoying my homescreen with large clock and ability to see what's happening without a need to press any buttons... say when it's on my desk at work. And I have not noticed any significant loss of batt.life
Guest dhutchison Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Yeah, that's an option now with the improved battery life. It was always a pain not being able to glance at the phone and not see the time, any missed calls or messages received.
Guest madu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 PS: I do not have DK update thus using 'original' battery life. It still holds 1 day..
Guest h00pyfr00d Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Where's this 'Dock-Clock' thingie from? I don't have this option in mine!
Guest mike-oh Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Dock ware comes on the 8Meg SD card that you get with your phone. I think it's only a demo however i had it installed for weeks and you can add your own photos to the directory (you'll see) if you get fed up of the ones included.
Guest madu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 It is called Dockware. Costs like £6 and can be found on Handango http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDet...0&platformId=11
Guest h00pyfr00d Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Internal Server Error Dead link maybe. I'll fish about on my SD card....Cheers.
Guest HelloDave Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 The DockWare trial is unlimited, but doesn't have all the features of the full version. You can buy DockWare Pro, which includes password protection and a few other tweaks that the free version doesn't have, though I haven't bothered because i'm quite happy without them!
Guest J1A1H Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 i deleted everything on my 8mb sim card which came with the phone so i can no longer access that. is there a way of getting it all back?
