hey guys,

same file (CSC: B7610INUIJ3) needed here. i need this csc for warrenty purposes. it would be really greatfull if anyone posts it here.

i have searched everywhere in internet, but couldnt find it.

can anyone dump it from their original roms....

@ErnstJanF: I searched for the XX version, but thats for Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM. The INU version is for the official and original WM 6.1 ROM. The only place this version is available is GSM Library, but I cant even download by paying the 1 Euro. They accept payment by paypal and although paypal works in India, the process requires me to link my credit/debit card to my paypal account. I only have debit card and no debit card in India is compatible with the linking process of paypal.

If someone can do this on my behalf with his/her bank account, I can transfer the amount using online bank transfer. I can do so in most international currencies. Can anybody help?

Test Csc Backup application, (modified Samsung application to backup csc on your phone) added.

I did some more modifications since this morning and currently the whole csc file can be extracted as one file with correct header. The files can then be extracted from this CSC using my application.

I will have to modify my application to build the file with the proper 'footer' (end of csc file which has to be added). I am not sure how many people are there who still have original csc file on the phone and want to back it up, but I thought I try to make it work.

If anybody would like to try/test it and let me know if it works it would be good.

How to do it:

1. Extract the archive on you PC and copy the folder csc_bak on your Main Storage (don't put on SD or "My Storage"!).

2. Run cscGetFiles.exe from you file exporer on the phone. It doesn't give you any information that is has completed but you can check the content of the csc_bak folder and BACKUP.CSC file should be there.

The csc file, BACKUP.CSC will be created in the csc_bak folder on your Main Storage. The CSC_bak folder has to be created on main Storage.

3. After that you can extract files using my application and you will see if all the files are there."

I used a 'XX' also, and I selected EN version. In my phone it shows EN and not XX :P

It's basically the same, but XX contains multiple CSC's I think

We can also create fake CSC with some other B7610 CSC files. Use any B7610 CSC available in this forum. Edit it using any Hex Editor. Search the old CSC name (two places only) and replace it with whatever name you want for example with "B7610INUIJ3". Once you download modified CSC, your phone will detect this fake CSC with B7610INUIJ3.

I dont remember, but somebody in this forum used this trick to get the 6.5 upgrade using Samsung New PC Studio. NPS reads the CSC file in the phone and based CSC and other phone software version it detects whether upgrade is available for that phone or not.

In future if 6.5 upgrade is available in India and if you want to do it online using NPS, you need the B7610INUIJ3.csc file. In that case this fake CSC will be useful if you have overwritten with some other CSC. Otherwise we have to take the device to Samsung Service Center where they take 2 weeks to upgrade!!!!

Thanks you buddy, love you so much!!! :P I finally got my CSC backed up! Here is the Original India WM 6.1 ROM (B7610INUIJ3) CSC file extracted using wes58's tool. :P

But there is one catch, as per instructions on the tool's thread, this tool doesn't yet writes proper "end footer" in the dumpe CSC, so I do not know that it is safe for flashing or not. I needed it to look into its files and for that purpose, this backup is perfect. I can dump all the files inside it using RomTool.exe by wes85.

EDIT: Now it has been confirmed that the backed up CSC is good for flashing. So go ahead! :D

yes sir, i flashed the csc provided by you, all the special keys are working fine. i used it along with jc2 pda, eboot and phone files. its working properly.

one thing i noted is, after flashing the csc i am getting the old widgets homecreens, with --- instead of numbers on the homescreens. old roms before jc2 had these kinds of samsung homecreens.

apart from it its ok.

Yes, thats what i was telling. To get rid of this problem, First, Disable the Samsung Today/TouchWiz interface. Use Resco Explorer or any other file manager and go to \Windows Folder. Now delete these files :

DefaultPlugIns.dll

open_widget_order_flash.dat

WidgetPlus.dll

WidgetPLus.swf

widgets.dat (if exists)

After that, re-enable Samsung today/touchwiz and you'll get the new UI plus more widgets :P

Actually, the 6.1 CSC copies these files over the new version present in the ROM. That's what for i wanted to dump my original CSC for, to know which files are being copied. :D
