Hi all,

I am a newbie to Android and I have tried to enable SU on my Nexus one using the following steps and it does not work. ? HELP !

1/ Unlocked Bootloader - no problems and ADB drivers working on phone.

2/ Phone rebooted

3/ Checked build currently at ERE27

4/ downloaded ERE27 superboot.

5/ put phone in white android screem (power and trackball held down)

6/ ran installer by clicking windows .bat

7/ All installed ok - really quick !

8/ Rebooted phone

9/ checked USB Debugging still enabled.

10/ tried SU command that is in applications and get app start but does noting and will eventually say force close?

11/ Tried Titanium backup - requests SU - I click on Always allow and then it says Failed.

Why can I not get SU working

I can confirm that the bootloader is unlocked as I get the unlocked padlock at boot.

Help please genius's

Did you install the Recovery Image?

Did you try Wiping before flashing?

What is your Build Version / Software number on Settings/About?

One sure way to confirm if your N1 is rooted: Install a terminal apps like ConnectBot and type "su" at the prompt. You should get a "#" prompt, if not, your device is not rooted.

Thanks for helping - here are the answers to your questions.

1/ I did not install recovery - that would have been my next step as the instructions state may need rooted phone - so I was trying to root 1st.

2/ build number is ERE27 / kernal 2.6.29-01117-g4bc62c2android-build@apa26

downloaded 1.0-ERE27-nexusone-superboot

3/ my device is not rooted as titanium backup tries to root and fails
