Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 What are the options, guys? I just put an Invisible Shield on as I'd read that they can mask scratches but as far as I'm concerned they should call the product "visible shields" since it's so obvious, everything white onscreen has a rainbow effect due to the shield working some kind of prism related magic. Anyone know of a good way to get rid of screen scratches or am I looking at buying a new glass and digitizer?

Guest speedking34 Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I wouldn't recommend AppleSauce, as they tell you not to use it on the iphone glass front, which is in effect the same material as the hero glass front.
Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) I think that's for plastic screens, no? Have you used it? EDIT: What Speedking said. Edited March 23, 2010 by Guest
Guest speedking34 Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Wahwah I am actually in the same situation as you, I have one slight but annoying scratch on my screen and i've desperaretly been looking for q way to fix it ... I think the only real solution is to get a new glass and digitizer i'm afraid :)
Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Yeah, it's a bit annoying, looking online it seems that you can get them from ebay for around £30-£40 and some of the scratch remedies are £20. If someone had a success story I'd probably give it a go. As it is there doesn't seem to be much out there.
Guest Dr. dre Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) There are no way to completely remove the scratches but the easy and cheap method is that use any good glass cleaner, that will lighten the scratches but not completely remove it. But isn't the screen glass on Hero scratch proof ? Edited March 23, 2010 by Dr. dre
Guest Soaa- Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Yeah, how'd you guys manage to scratch your screens? My Hero has been naked from day 1, and it's still pretty mint. The back has some scuffs from sliding across a few tables, but the screen is good as new. Then again, the hardest thing the screen's ever come in contact with is probably the headphone plug, which sometimes lies disconnected from the phone in my pocket.
Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I always keep it separate from keys and change, have been careful with it the whole time I've had it. There wasn't a big event that caused it, I just noticed an scratch in the middle of the screen yesterday, no idea how it happened.
Guest jonathanmusto Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I once used T-Cut on a glass watch face, got all the scratches out!... Not sure if i'd risk it on the Hero though...
Guest Ibanez33 Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) I was going to suggest car polish if its mild scratch.. Worked like a charm on the screen of my old iphone! If its a deep scratch then you can only really replace it.. Edited March 23, 2010 by Ibanez33
